At Chesapeake Gunslingers, we take great care in ensuring your orders are shipped safely, securely, and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. This Shipping Policy explains how we process and deliver orders for firearms, ammunition, and related products.
1. Order Processing
Orders are typically processed and shipped within 3–10 business days after payment and verification are complete. Some orders may take longer due to product availability, background checks, or ATF/NFA processing.
We’ll notify you by email or phone once your order has shipped or is ready for pickup.
2. Firearm Shipments
All firearm purchases must be shipped to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer for transfer.
It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure the receiving FFL is valid and accepts firearm transfers.
Firearms cannot be shipped directly to an individual unless they hold a valid FFL.
The name and contact information of the receiving dealer must be provided at checkout or shortly after purchase.
The firearm will only be released to the buyer after successful completion of all required background checks and paperwork.
3. NFA Items
NFA-regulated items such as suppressors or short-barreled rifles are transferred according to ATF guidelines. These items are shipped only to licensed dealers and require approved ATF documentation before transfer to the end user.
4. Ammunition Shipments
Buyers must be 18 years or older for rifle/shotgun ammunition and 21 years or older for handgun ammunition.
Adult signature is required upon delivery.
Ammunition cannot be shipped to P.O. boxes or to states/locations where prohibited by law.
All ammunition sales are final and non-returnable due to safety regulations.
5. Accessory Shipments
Non-regulated items such as accessories, optics, and gear may be shipped directly to the customer’s provided address. These orders are typically shipped via UPS, FedEx, or USPS with available tracking information.
6. Shipping Carriers & Tracking
We primarily use UPS, FedEx, and USPS for shipping.
Tracking numbers are provided for UPS and FedEx shipments.
USPS tracking may be limited and may require up to 30 days to trace lost shipments.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping details at checkout.
7. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated based on product weight, size, and destination.
Customers are responsible for all shipping fees, including returns, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
8. Delays and Availability
While we do our best to ship within stated timeframes, delays may occur due to inventory shortages, carrier issues, or compliance verification. Chesapeake Gunslingers is not liable for shipping delays once packages are in carrier possession.
9. Damaged or Lost Shipments
If your package arrives damaged or fails to arrive within a reasonable timeframe:

For damaged items, please keep all original packaging for inspection or carrier claims.
Lost shipments must be reported within 10 business days of expected delivery.
10. In-Store Pickup & Special Orders
Customers who schedule appointments for in-person pickups must retrieve their items within 90 days of notification. Orders not picked up within that time will be considered abandoned and may be restocked without refund.
11. Legal Compliance
By placing an order, you acknowledge that you are legally permitted to purchase and possess the items in your order. Chesapeake Gunslingers complies with all firearm and ammunition shipping laws and will cancel or adjust any order that violates federal, state, or local restrictions.
