First-time applicants must complete a 16-hour course. Renewal applicants are required to complete 8 hours of training.

No. An HQL is not required to take the Maryland Wear & Carry course.

Yes. Maryland State Police requires a live-fire qualification at an approved range.

What do I need to bring?
Students should bring a valid photo ID. If you have a firearm, you are permitted to bring it in the class. ABSOLUTELY NO LIVE AMMO IS PERMMITTED. Eye and ear protection will be provided if needed. Ammo is not included in the class but is available for purchase if needed. Additional details will be emailed after registration.
